Current phase of alert in the WHO global influenza preparedness plan
Pandemic preparednessIn the 2009 revision of the phase descriptions, WHO has retained the use of a six-phased approach for easy incorporation of new recommendations and approaches into existing national preparedness and response plans. The grouping and description of pandemic phases have been revised to make them easier to understand, more precise, and based upon observable phenomena. Phases 1–3 correlate with preparedness, including capacity development and response planning activities, while Phases 4–6 clearly signal the need for response and mitigation efforts. Furthermore, periods after the first pandemic wave are elaborated to facilitate post pandemic recovery activities.
The current WHO phase of pandemic alert is 4.
This is NOT a panic alert!
This post is meant to keep you informed enough so that you may take the necessary precautions needed to protect your health and the health of your family and loved ones.
I shall continue with these updates as necessary and when I become aware of them.
I urge all who may read this weblog to continue to check with the W.H.O. website on a regular basis (google it) and to not rely on this blog or other commercial news sources for your information.
I say this because I know that the MSM tries to make a mountain out of molehills in order to increase their ratings. The best weapon against panic is correct information from the source of that information, and in this case it is the World Health Organization.
That website is located here;
I also urge my readers to contact their local health professionals for information regarding their personal and neighborhood preparedness preparations.
